Cameras and doorbells
Good cameras should tell you when something matters, not send you forty alerts about a tree. I help you choose, place and set them up so they're useful, and so your footage stays under your control.
What I can help with
- Choosing equipment: wired or battery, indoor or outdoor, and what will work with what you already have.
- Placement: covering what you need to see, and avoiding blind spots and glare.
- Local recording: keeping footage on your own storage, which can reduce or remove monthly fees.
- Smarter alerts: detecting people and vehicles instead of every moving shadow.
- Video doorbells: answering the door from your phone, tied into your smart home.
- Secure access: viewing cameras away from home without exposing them directly to the internet.
Privacy and the law
Point cameras at your own property as far as you can. If a camera captures a public street or a neighbour's property, data protection rules may apply to you, and in a business they usually will. I'll help you position cameras to limit this, but the responsibility for how they're used stays with you.
