Backups and data safety
Everyone means to sort out their backups, usually right after losing something. A good backup is automatic, stored in more than one place, and tested so you know it works.
What I can help with
- Home backups: photos, documents and whole computers.
- Small office backups: shared files and business records.
- Cloud and local storage: choosing the right mix for your data and budget.
- Restore tests: checking that your backup actually brings your files back.
- Data recovery: retrieving files from failing or accidentally wiped drives where possible.
If you've just lost files
- Stop using the device. Continued use can overwrite what's recoverable.
- Don't run recovery tools or reinstall anything yet.
- If a drive is clicking or grinding, turn it off. Running it can cause more damage.
Then send me a ticket. Recovery can't always succeed. A mechanically failed drive may need a specialist lab, and I'll tell you if yours does.
